Petroleum Products

Gasoline

Description: Gasoline, also known as petrol, is a transparent, petroleum-derived liquid used primarily as fuel in internal combustion engines. It is typically blended with various additives to improve its performance and reduce environmental impact.

Applications:

  • Fuel for cars, motorcycles, and small engines.
  • Used in some aircraft engines.
  • As a solvent in some industrial applications.

Diesel

Description: Diesel fuel is a type of liquid fuel used in diesel engines, which operate by igniting the fuel by compression. Diesel has a higher energy density compared to gasoline, making it an efficient fuel for transportation and machinery.

Applications:

  • Fuel for heavy vehicles like trucks, buses, and ships.
  • Power generation.
  • Agricultural machinery and industrial equipment.

Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG)

Description: LPG is a combustible blend of hydrocarbon gases, mostly butane and propane. It is commonly used as fuel for heating appliances, cooking equipment, and vehicles.

Applications:

  • Residential heating and cooking.
  • Fuel for vehicles.
  • Industrial heating and power generation.

Fuel Oil

Description: Fuel oil is a fraction that is either a distillate or a residue that is obtained from the distillation of petroleum. It is used primarily in boilers, furnaces, and large engines for power generation and heating.

Applications:

  • Industrial heating (boilers, furnaces).
  • Power generation in large engines.
  • Marine fuel for ships.

Base Oil

Description: Base oils are used to manufacture lubricating greases, motor oil, and other lubricants. The base oil is refined from crude oil and categorized into different groups based on their chemical composition and refining process.

Applications:

  • Base material for lubricating oils.
  • Used in the formulation of engine oils, hydraulic oils, and gear oils.
  • Manufacturing of greases and metalworking fluids.
